Stamps By Mail -The Next Installment!

I'm so excited to be announcing the next Stamps By Mail Program! Not only because it means more creative fun for all of us, but also because it means there's a new catalogue just around the corner! Just in case you didn't already hear me screaming it from the mountains, the 2009 Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue is on the way! Available from August 1st, this new catalogue is jam-packed with brand new (great priced!) stamp sets, papers and accessories. I can't wait to share it all with you!

So, without further ado, let me tell you about my new SBM program...

How It Works: The program will run across 4 months, beginning in August. In order to take part in the program, you will subscribe to all 4 months. Each month, you will receive a delivery straight from the warehouse containing stamps, inkpads and accessories. You will also receive materials and instructions from me to complete 3 projects each month. These projects will consist of both scrapbooking and cardmaking designs.
 
You will get: Whilst I can't yet give you actual product names, across the 4 months of the program, you will receive all of the following items:

• A gorgeous new Stamp Set featuring a great mix of images and sentiments
• A packet of rubons that match the stamp set
• A packet of beautiful new Designer Series Paper which matches the stamp set and rubons
• A packet of gorgeous new hardware
• Baja Breeze Stamp Pad
• Kiwi Kiss Stamp Pad
• Basic Grey Stamp Pad
• Cameo Coral Stamp Pad
• So Saffron Stamp Pad
• Cardstock, ribbons and other embellishments as required for projects
• 4 monthly PDF files containing instructions to complete 3 projects per month (a hard copy will also be mailed to you with your supplies)
• Shipping $5.95 per month

The Cost: Because of the great value products in the new spring mini, I'm thrilled to be able to once again offer the Stamps By Mail program for just $50 per month for 4 months. This includes shipping from the warehouse to you and also postage from me to you for the extra cardstock and embellishments you will need. Payment can be made via Credit Card, Direct Deposit to my bank account or Paypal.

When Is It? The next Stamps By Mail program will begin August 15th, 2009 and will run through to November. The mail outs will happen around the 15th of each month. If you already have any of the stamp pads, you can select another colour of your choice. Just email me prior to the 15th of the month they are needed in and tell me what colour you would like instead.
 
Upon registration, you will receive an email from me, outlining further details of the program. Please note that this is an all-inclusive program and you must subscribe to ALL four months of the program to participate.

I've been Scrapbooking!

I've been planning Bev's workshop today and she has requested a scrapbooking Make & Take. I looked to SCS for some inspiration and came across this fantastic layout. So simple, which is perfect for a make and take where we can often be limited on time. I changed the colours to suit the supplies I had available and added a black and white photo of Sam.

A CASE with Thoughts and Prayers

Today's card is a CASE of a card I saw on SCS about three weeks ago. It's simple beauty attracted me the minute I saw it and I sat down to recreate it right away. The patterned paper is from the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' Kit, which I just adore! Such a gorgeous kit. I died a flower from the Pretties Kit by colouring it with a Stampin' Write marker, then I gave it a quick blast with my heat tool to dry it ready to use straight away. The whole card only took about half an hour to make from start to finish, but I think you'll agree that it's one of those special cards that you just don't want to give away!

Another Spring Mini 09 Sneak Peak

Here's another Sneak Peak at a new stamp set coming in the Spring Mini '09 Catalogue. This is actually some of the envelopes that I'm sending out the July Stamps By Mail kits in. I couldn't resist stamping them up with a little sneak peak from the Mini Catalogue. Such a cute set and I can't wait to share it with you in all it's glory! Spring Mini Sneak Peak!

As promised in my twitter and facebook updates yesterday, today I have a sneak peak project using products from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue (available from August 1st). I'm having a fabulous time playing with my preorder products and will be sharing some of these projects with you in the coming days. Today I'd like to share this mini card with you -a very simple design, but it came together literally within minutes and would make a great little gift card for that last minute gift. I've used Baja Breeze cardstock and Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain ribbon, along with a brand new stamp set that I am just loving.

Crazy for Cupcakes

Today's card is another Elite Stampers challenge card. I wasn't entirely happy with how this card turned out and I'm seriously considering revisiting it to change some things and see if I can get it to a point where I am happy to give it to someone. I think it's the sentiment that's not working for me. Anyway, I wanted to share it with you to show that we can all have off days where our creations don't work out the way we want them to. The main thing is that you enjoy the creating and I certainly do that!

It's Sketchy Saturday Again!

It's been a long time coming, but I've decided that today is my second Sketchy Saturday. I finally made time this week to sit down and put together another sketch. So, here it is;

To participate in my sketch challenge, just create a card using the sketch as a guide to your design/layout, take a photo of it and either email that photo to me or upload it to your favourite online gallery and post a comment on this post with the link to your card. Too easy! I look forward to seeing your creations!

I've created a card myself using this sketch to give you one idea of how your own interpretation of my sketch can really give you a completely different look from the sketch card. You can see from my card that it has the basic layout of the sketch, but the overall card looks very different to the sketch image. I made this card for my friend's daughter, who turned one this week. I love how it turned out! Crazy for Cupcakes is such an easy set to work with -this cake stand image is just stunning. This is one must-have, essential set for all of you birthday card-makers out there!

So, here is my card, incorporating some of my very favourite new products. The Eyelet Border Punch and Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon always feature very close to hand at my craft desk. I love the delicate, feminine feel that the border punch gives to my projects. I've also used the gorgeous Candy Lane Designer Series Papers which feature two of the new In Colours -Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette. I'm so glad we get an extra 5 months with these In Colours -I just adore them!

Kissing Stamps

Today's card was another creation for an Elite Stampers challenge. This was a stamp set challenge where we had to create something using the set "Good Friend". I wanted to try out the "Kissing" Technique, so I thought this was a good time to give it a go, as the bird from Good Friend is a nice, solid image -perfect for "kissing" with! The kissing technique is really simple -just ink up your solid stamp in one colour, then ink up a patterned stamp (background stamps are perfect) in another colour and kiss the two stamps together. For best results, use one light colour and one darker colour. Give it a try, it's actually really fun!

One of the benefits I have in being a member of the Elite Stampers Team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators is monthly challenges that we can take part in to help us get our creative juices flowing, and also to give us a wide range of ideas for sharing with our workshop guests. One of the June challenges was a colour challenge, where we had to use Baja Breeze, Going Grey, Basic Grey and Pink Pirouette all on one card. Today's card is my submission for that challenge and I was really happy with how it turned out. The Going Grey rectangle layer is not patterned paper -it's actually just Going Grey cardstock, random stamped with Circle Circus! Doesn't it look great?

Circle Circus meets Fifth Ave Floral

Recently, I wanted to create a special card for a friend "just because". I was browsing the net and came across this card. As soon as I saw it, the ideas started to flow as to how I could recreate it with Stampin' Up! stamps. As you can see, my card is very similar to the original, but I've used very different stamps and supplies to create it. One of the fabulous things that I truly love about papercrafting is how easy it can be to use your own supplies to recreate someone else's creation and give it your own little touch of creativity.

Quick and Easy Gift Box

I recently had occasion to put together a thank-you gift for a special friend who had helped my husband and I out in a big way. I wanted to create something special for her, but I was limited on time to put together this gift. I had chosen to give her a set of stamps that I knew she would enjoy, so I wanted to create a little gift box to put them in. As I thought about what to create, I had a lightbulb moment where I suddenly pictured what I wanted to do and to my shock, the finished product is exactly what I was going for and just looked so fabulous -that never happens to me! I created a simple box base, then made a belly band for the box and decorated the band with some ribbon, stamped image and embellishments as shown. I love how it turned out!

Owl Together Now IBC CASE

I'm finding that the new set "Owl Together Now" is quickly becoming one of my favourite sets. It's so versatile -a great set for masculine OR feminine cards, any occasion (even Christmas!) and just so cute! Today's card is an almost-CASE of the card on the back cover of our new Idea Book & Catalogue. I say "almost" because I used the layout of the card and copied it identically, but I changed the stamp set and papers to get a very different look. I just love how it turned out!

A Card From Convention

It's been over six weeks since I came home from the SU Convention in Canberra and I am still recreating cards and other projects learned there. One of the classes I did at convention was about workshop "wow"s -simple projects that give a real WOW affect. Today's card is one of the projects we learned in that class and I have to agree, it definitely gives me a wow. It's such a simple design, but so very effective. I'll definitely be using this layout for other designs, it comes together so quickly but the finished card is just so cute! I definitely recommend that you should give this card a go yourself -a photo just doesn't do it justice!

Returning to Typepad

My sincerest apologies to you, my valued blog readers, for the vast lack of posting over the past two months. I've been working on changes to my blog, which included switching blog software. Working on these changes in amidst workshops, classes and family life have kept me super busy over the past couple of months and hence my distinct lack of posting. Having decided to return to Typepad, I promise to be more regular with my posts from now on! I hope you haven't completely forgotten who I am and will join me on a regular basis from here on in to share our mutual passion for the wonderful world of stamping!
